"The Deck," located at Pacific Edge Hotel in Laguna Beach, offers beach fare with ocean views in a relaxed setting.

A hot new spot for Laguna Beach locals and visitors is The Deck. The open-air bar and restaurant is located steps away from the beach at the Pacific Edge Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Hotel. What was once a deck reserved for weddings and private events has been transformed into a popular eatery for those wanting an ocean view and tasty California cuisine. Whether you're looking to grab a romantic cocktail at sunset or take the family out for a casual meal, The Deck offers something for everyone.

“Laguna Beach is the quintessential casual, laid-back California beach town with a touch of urban sophistication, incredible weather and pristine beaches,” said Bill Tremper, general manager of Pacific Edge. “Our goal was to create a place that embodies the culture of the community, where people can unwind while enjoying quality food and great service. We want to give locals and visitors alike an unforgettable Laguna Beach experience.”

The Deck Menu

Chef Michael Ingrino has created a menu that can be catered to the occasion. If you're on a budget or want to eat light, try the Spinach Salad with nuts, berries, and blue cheese topped with balsamic vinigrette ($9), the Shrimp Ceviche with mango and tortilla chips ($11), or the Warm Pita Bread with olive tapenade and smoked paprika hummus ($6). Looking to indulge or celebrating a special occasion? Sink your teeth into the Surf N Turf Kabob with filet mignon, shrimp and cous cous ($22), The Deck burger and fries ($14), or the Clam Bake ($35). Parents will be relieved to know that there is also a children's menu with familiar items like grilled cheese and pasta.

To compliment the cuisine, The Deck offers a variety of libations, including specialty martinis, such as the Purple Bikini made with lychee, acai, grey goose and cointreau, or the Cool as a Cucumber made with fresh cucumber, mint, fresh lime, Hendrick's and St. Germaine. Their Sun Drinks menu includes a locals' favorite, the Laguna Mojito made with mint, lime, prickly pear and Bacardi limon. Join friends for Happy Hour Monday through Thursdays from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and stay late for live music on Tuesdays from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Great overview! We love the OC and Pacific Edge is one of our favorite Laguna Beach hotels. It's in a great location right on the water and has such a laid-back vibe.
